IT TAKES A VILLAGE

First and foremost, I have to thank Neilson Hubbard. As soon as Stevie and I sat down with him to discuss making this record, we knew he was the right person. He put the incredible band together in the right studio with the perfect engineer and enabled me to do my thing. The effects of Neilson’s work have been truly life-changing for me as an artist, and they will stay with me forever.

This record is the sound of musicians playing live in the studio. Three of the songs are first takes, and none took more than four. The band had heard nothing until I struck up my acoustic guitar – the legendary ‘Nashville Cat’ is alive and well. Thank you.
